ALPINE CLIMBING INTRODUCTION

Learn the basic progression techniques in an alpine environment. Perform, in a safe and autonomous way, ascension trough snowy terrain with an inclination that will never exceed 50ºa.

  • Revise progression with ice axes and crampons.
  • Revise the notions of Self-detection.
  • Map and review interpretation.
  • Basic notions of ARVA (victim detection in avalanche scenarios) management.
  • Knots.
  • Basic progress techniques and maneuvers in alpine conditions.
  • Specific Alpine Climbing 1 techniques (roping, belays, anchoring…)
  • Ratio: 1 teacher, 6 students.
  • Duration: 2 days.
  • Requirements: You mustn’t have any kind of medical condition that could hinder your progress during the activity. Knowledge according to the content of the winter mountaineering course. (Assessment of sports curriculum).
  • Location: “Sierra Nevada” National Park.
  • Materials: helmet, ice ax, crampons, harness, high mountain boots, leggings, warm waterproof clothing, we recommend bringing an ARVA (victim detection in avalanche scenarios) device, shovel and probe.
